Some Questions and Answers

 

What time is check-in?

 

Candlelight Bed & Breakfast and Self Catering Apartment standard check-in is between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, earlier or later check-in by prior notification only, please. If you are late please ring or text us so we make sure that someone is in to welcome you.

 

What time is check out?

 

Check out is @10:30 am for Bed & Breakfast

Check-out is @10.00am for Self Catering Apartment

 

What time is breakfast?

 

Breakfast is served between 8.00 am and 9.30 am. Please let us know a night before if you would like your breakfast cooked and served earlier than stated times and we will be happy to do it.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

 

BED & BREAKFAST bookings: We have a 24hr  direct booking cancellation policy.  If less than 24 hours cancellation notification is given, your credit card will be charged for your booked reservation.

 

SELF CATERING APARTMENT: A deposit of 25% of the booking total is required.
This deposit will be refunded if cancelled more than 60 days before arrival.

Full booking balance must be paid 42 days (6 weeks) before arrival.
If the booking is cancelled less than 42 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.
If the booking is cancelled 42 or more days before arrival then a charge equal to 25% of the stay will be made.
In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.
 

Can we bring in or order take away (for B&B guests only)?

 

We are happy, with prior notice, for our guests to use a table at the dining room between 5pm and 9pm (to give us some time to get the room ready for the breakfast) to eat brought in take away. Please let us know how many plates, knives-folks, glasses, etc required.

 

We ask our guests not to bring take away food to the bedrooms or order deliveries to the front door. Greasy stains and lingering smells are hard to get rid of! We do have a standard charge of £50 for extra cleaning required to the room effected by takeaway smell. Any damage to bed covers or carpets is charged separately.

 

Do you supply beds for additional people/children in the rooms?

 

We do supply some extra beds if required, at extra charge. Please note, some rooms allow extra beds, some do not. 

 

 It is always a good idea to call or email us so we could advise you about the best room for your requirements.  

 

Do you do baggage transfers for walkers?

 

Baggage transfers to accommodation in Porlock, or further, can be arranged (Additional  Fee ) for walkers of the South West Coast Path,  information is available on request.

 

Do you accept pets?

 

Sorry, due to potential allergic reactions for other guests, we have a strict no pet policy for Candlelight except for Guide dogs.

 

Can I wear my shoes in Candlelight?

Under normal circumstances yes, however, if shoes are wet/muddy/covered in the sand we ask that they are removed at the entrance.  We ask that hiking boots also be removed. If you would like to wash your dirty shoes or boots please ask for bucket and brush (free of charge).

 

What is your smoking policy?

We are strictly non-smoking accommodation. Smoking cigarettes, other tobacco products in a room or elsewhere on premises and disposing of used cigarettes in the room trash can is banned and will result in guests being asked to leave immediately.

 

Electronic cigarettes?

Are also prohibited within the building.

 

Anyone breaking our smoking policy will be asked to leave immediately and will be charged in full for the total duration of their stay.

 

Clinical Waste?

We ask Guests to please remove clinical waste items/bags; we do not have the facilities to correctly dispose of this type of waste.
